Presentation abstract:

There are sets of terms in the coatings industry used interchangeably to describe issues. However, the terms are actually different phenomena and usually require different technical solutions.

Discussion of the terminology for dispersion, surface phenomena, foam and rheology are presented.
A clear knowledge of the terms to properly define the observed issue and the best options for a solution will improve the speed of formulating a quality finish.
