NWSCT Newsletter December 2007

Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and safe Holiday Season and a very prosperous New Year! Come join us for the last NWSCT meeting of the calendar year at Jax Cafe. This is our first newsletter on the website www.nwsct.org.  If you know anyone that would like to receive this newsletter by mail please contact Elaine Anderson at elaine.anderson@tennantco.com or 763-540-1346, so that we make sure they get a newsletter.

We apologize for having to cancel last months meeting but our speaker was not able to make it. We will have to work on something like that again.

Our next meeting will feature Mitch Halpert of Huber Engineered Materials. Mitch is the NA Distribution Manager, responsible for overall distribution across Huber's product lines, and specific business support of kaolin sales through our NA distributors. Mitch has a Bachelor's of Chemistry from University of Virginia and his MBA from Boston University. Mitch will be talking on Kaolin clay and extenders. His talk is called "Kaoin clay and other extenders, a presentation from Huber Engineered Materials."

The NWSCT Board is seeking volunteers for the 2008 - 2009 Board. We are in the need of a Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President. If you are interested please feel free to contact John. The 2007-2008 meeting schedule is below. We are having our January 8th meeting at H. B. Fuller, the January meeting at H.B. Fuller. This also is a luncheon meeting. Our speaker will be "An overview of Environmental Durability of Materials" by David Dumbleton of Atlas Material Testing LLC. Our annual winter outing is scheduled for February 15th to 17th at Cragun's resort. Our March meeting scheduled for March 11th will feature Joe Peter of Leneta Company; his talk is "Do you really comply with ASTM?" Our April 8th meeting will be Education Day; we might change the times on this one, so look at the website www.nwsct.org for more information as we get it. Look at the Events page to find out more information. Our e-mail will be posted at the first of the month on our web page and we will send out and e-mail version to everyone. The Social will be in April. Details to follow soon.
