February 2014 Newsletter
Our February monthly meeting was held at the Country Inn & Suites Hotel in Vadnais Heights and was sponsored by HB Fuller. The meeting featured a guest speaker from Specialty Minerals Inc, Dr. Thomas Dombrowski, who presented an overview of mineral fillers and their selection criteria when used in paint and coatings applications. Thanks to all who attended.
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11th at the Tennant Corporate Woods facility. This is located at the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Douglas Drive in Golden Valley.
The March meeting will feature two guest speakers: Richard Shain from King Industries will present on the use of Polyester Diols in VOC Compliant Coatings and Tim Selby of DuPont will present on Lab Safety. As usual the meeting will run from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and includes lunch.
Information about meeting registration will be e-mailed shortly.

Members receive discounted rates for monthly meetings and have access to electronic copies of presentations provided to the NWSCT.
Important Dates and Upcoming Events
Our annual Winter Outing this year will be dinner and a Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball Game at Williams Arena. The date is Tuesday, February 25th when the Gophers take on Big 10 rival Iowa. Williams Arena is one of the best locations in the country for college basketball so this should be a great event! This event will be limited to 40 people.
Our Annual Texas Hold ‘Em event will be held on Friday, March 28th at a location to be determined. No prior poker experience is necessary.
We hope you will be able to join us for both events, watch your emails for more information.
Future Monthly meetings include:
April: Annual Education Symposium at Valspar. Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th (which is not the standard second Tuesday) to avoid conflict with the ACA show in Atlanta.
All monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month from October - April from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm and include lunch.
