NWSCT January 2013 Newsletter
Happy New Year!!
This month's meeting was held on Tuesday, January 8th, at Valspar Corp and featured presentations from Rich Scott of Byk Gardner and Michelle Rioux with Lonza/Arch. Rich presented on the "Advancements in Hand-Held LED Color Measurement Technology" and Michelle discussed "The Impact of Biocide Regulatory Changes on the U.S. Coatings Industry."
The February meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 12th and will be hosted by Tennant Company, Coatings Technology Center (2454 Louisiana Ave N, Golden Valley, MN 55427). The meeting will include lunch and presentation from Dr. Tom Bekemeier of Dow Corning. Tom will be presenting on "Next Generation Polysiloxane Coatings".
The cost will be $15 per person for members and $20 per person for non-members if paid on our website using PayPal by Friday, February 8th, and $20/$25 if paid thereafter. Please contact Wally Kesler (wkesler@valspar.com) if you plan to attend the meeting but will not be paying via PayPal so that we can get an accurate head count for lunch.
Please note: Attendance is limited to just 25 people for this meeting so please register as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Due to parking limitations we strongly recommend carpooling if possible.

Membership News
We are sad to announce the recent passing of Willard N. Swanson Jr, former owner of The Willard Swanson Company, a regional chemical distributor based in St. Paul, MN. He was 79 years old. Willard is survived by wife Carmen, five children and six grandchildren. Willard was a very supportive member of the coatings industry in Minnesota and will be missed.
We would like to acknowledge and welcome the following new members to the NWSCT:

We would like to remind you to pay your annual membership dues in order to remain an active member, continue to receive communications from the NWSCT and receive discounted fee for meeting luncheons. Membership dues can be paid via PayPal on our website (Membership Application/Renewal) or by filling out and sending the form from the Membership page to Sarah Oebser at the address found on the bottom of the form. Checks can be mailed to Sarah as well in lieu of Paypal.
